CCPT is a developmentally responsive, play-based therapeutic intervention for young children who present with emotional, social, and behavioral concerns. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings through toys instead of words. In CCPT, a play therapist provides a safe relationship and environment where children experience unconditional acceptance, understanding, and empathy which allows children to freely express their internal world. This nurturing relationship is the key factor for creating meaningful and long-term change. Research outcomes include decreased symptomatic behaviors and improvement in overall functioning.

Peggy Ceballos, Ph.D, LPC-A, CCPT-S, CPRT-S, CCGPT. I earned my doctoral degree from the University of North Texas in 2008. I am a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I specialize in play therapy, Parent-Child Relationship Therapy and Teacher-Child Relationship Therapy. I have over 22 years working with clients from different backgrounds, but especially with immigrant children and their families. I deliver counseling in English and Spanish.

Hello, and thank you for considering me as someone to support you and your child. My name is Rianna, and I am a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) student currently enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). I bring over two years of hands-on experience working with children and their caregivers, providing support in a variety of settings.

I have specialized experience working with children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) as well as children on the Autism Spectrum. I am deeply passionate about this work and strive to create a compassionate, understanding environment where your child and family can feel safe and supported. My goal is to treat each family I work with as I would my own, providing personalized, client-centered care that fosters growth and healing.

In addition to my professional training, I enjoy expressing my creativity through music and art, which helps me connect with my clients in a unique way. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your family, and to be a part of your journey toward well-being.
